Job Description:
Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Recreation Therapist to join our team. This role will be Full-Time, Day Shifts, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm

Recreation Therapist Job Responsibilities:

• Documents the results of the Interest Assessment clearly and completely, including patients' identified leisure interest goals and all other essential elements according to department policy.
  
• Completes progress notes after each treatment session that reflect the patient's response to treatment, and an assessment as to status, relevant to the treatment plan and discharge needs as evidenced by chart review.
  
• Contacts families, physicians, or other healthcare team members in anticipation of the special needs of the patients or family in a timely manner to facilitate effective treatment plans as evidenced by chart review and team feedback.
  
• Provides educational material and community resource/referral information appropriate to the patient's level of understanding and motivation as evidenced by chart review. Includes family/caregiver in education and training as appropriate as evidenced by observation and documentation.
  
• Plans for and carries out appropriate individual and group treatment sessions based on functional measurable goals as well as community re-entry programs as appropriate as evidenced by chart review, observation, and team feedback.
  
• Develops functional measurable goals and treatment plans that reflect the evaluation findings and are prioritized based on input from the patient, family, and treatment team and as evidenced by chart review; Formulates treatment plan incorporating premorbid preferences, interests, and participation level as evidenced by chart review.
  
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire
