Job Summary:
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7 days on / 7 days off (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
Provide clinical care to patients in accordance with regulations, including obtaining patient histories, ordering labs and diagnostic studies, and arranging referrals.
Uphold excellent bedside manner and create a positive patient experience.
Explain medical procedures and plans of care to patients.
Responsible for inpatient care, rounding, admissions, discharges, and consults.
Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining, updating, and reviewing medical histories.
Document patient care services in EPIC.
Attend departmental meetings and professional training sessions as requested.
Maintain knowledge of and adhere to applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA.
Communicate effectively with physicians and medical staff to coordinate patient care.
Position Requirements
Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
Current New Mexico Nurse Practitioner license.
Two (2) years of experience preferred with inpatient medicine and the ability to work independently with critical care patients.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification preferred.
