Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.
Responsibilities
This lead mammography tech is responsible for the daily clinical and administrative operations of the mammography department, assisting in the delivery of personalized, professional and quality patient care, internal and external customer service, performance of all Mammography examinations, transportation of patients to and from Imaging Services, preparation of all departmental paperwork, answering the department?s telephone, scheduling of patients, entering and retrieving patient information from the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) and maintaining the work area in a clean and organized manner.
Explains Mammography procedure to the patient and/or family member in a thorough and professional manner.
Performs Mammography procedures ascertaining appropriate imaging parameters (MAS, KVP, positioning, etc.) are utilized, providing physician with a quality diagnostic procedure.
Provides education on an as needed basis to new and existing clinical team members
Manages clinical team members on a daily basis, ensuring compliance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Performs quality control on equipment ascertaining compliance with regulations. Notifies management immediately of any potential malfunction or hazard of equipment.
Maintains all documentation supporting the quality control program and regulatory compliance.
Serves as a point of contact for physician offices requiring clinical information and responds to requests within 24 hours.
Maintains an open line of communication with the dictating radiologist to ensure department images are constantly evaluated and improved.
Orders supplies for the division, ensuring that patient care is not interrupted.
Prepares and maintains department paperwork, verifying accuracy of information.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited program of Radiologic Technology.
2+ years of experience as a mammography technologist
Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a General Medical Radiologic Technologist (GMRT)
Registered radiologic technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M).
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
