Under the direction of a physician, Internal Medicine Advanced Practice Providers offer expert medical care to patients in office settings or in the hospital. They evaluate, treat, and help prevent illnesses and injuries that occur regularly in the general population. They may refer patients to specialists when needed for further diagnosis or treatment. Internal Medicine Advanced Practice Providers typically treat adults, some adolescents, and elderly patients.
Essential Functions:
Under the direction of a physician, admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients of all ages with acute and chronic illnesses, including major and complicated, and perform procedures learned in training. (25%)
Provide preventative and therapeutic care for patients of all ages. This includes admit patients, preventative care, acute care, care of injured persons, management of chronic illnesses, and performance of procedures learned in training. (25%)
Supervise house staff in providing care for patients of all ages in ambulatory and inpatient settings. (25%)
Performs privileged procedures as outlined in the Denver Health Advanced Practice Provider Ambulatory Care Clinical Privileges documentation. (25%)
Participates in clinical education of healthcare students as seen fit by the supervising medical staff

Education:
Master's Degree Required
Work Experience:
1-3 years related clinical experience preferred.
Licenses:
CNAA-Certified Nursing Administration Advanced - AONL - American Organization for Nursing Leadership Required and
PA-Physician Assistant - State Medical Board Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Has adequate knowledge and skill of all privileged procedures as outlined in the Denver Health Advanced Practice Provider Ambulatory Care Clinical Privileges documentation.
