Position Summary
Our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Unit is seeking a Clinical Nurse to support the PM&R program with a primary focus on assisting providers during in-clinic Botox treatment visits for pediatric patients, including those with cerebral palsy. This role supports patients receiving routine Botox injections every 3-6 months to reduce contractures and improve mobility. We are looking for an experienced nurse, 2 years+, who has worked in a clinic/hospital environment who is passionate about helping kids improve their quality of life. Pediatric experience is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities include administering minimal (non-IV) sedation-oral or G-tube-for anxiety management during procedures (not deep or twilight sedation), monitoring patients throughout one-hour appointments, and assisting with post-procedure follow-up visits to evaluate treatment effectiveness in collaboration with providers.
Additional duties include supporting clinic flow, coordinating follow-up appointments, managing provider messaging/inbox, and ensuring a high level of patient care during in-clinic procedures.
Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with flexibility required. Position is currently based at the Thomas campus, with potential future support at satellite locations. This position, in collaboration with the healthcare team, patient, and family, coordinates and promotes patient health utilizing evidence-based practice in the delivery of professional nursing care across the care continuum. This position advocates for the patient and family adhering to nursing and medical plans of care, regulatory standards, and organizational values.
Education
Two year (ADN) degree in nursing, a four year degree (BSN) in nursing, or a Diploma Nursing degree. (Required)
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in an RN to BSN program. (Preferred)
Experience
Pediatric experience. (Preferred)
Certifications
Current State of Arizona RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association. (Required)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification may be required within 90 days of entry into the position for select departments. (Preferred)
