POSITION SUMMARY
Administers roentgen rays to patients. Operates x-ray equipment, processes images, and prepares patient’s room, equipment, supplies and medication. Provides patient services using imaging modalities.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Processes orders from in-house and from outside providers.
Performs QC on equipment before any daily x-ray procedures are performed. Cleans and disinfects x-ray room and equipment after each patient. Performs monthly cleaning and preventative maintenance on all equipment necessary.
Prepares room, equipment, medicine, and materials as needed for patients.
Prepares patient for x-ray—explains procedures, transfers patient to department, positions patient and assists patient at end of procedures.
Follows prescribed techniques in administrating general and specific x-rays.
Develops film by digital processing method.
Observes patient and machine during procedures and reports unusual occurrences.
Maintains stock supplies and performs delegated office duties.
Takes mobile x-ray units to patient’s room, operating room, or emergency room.
Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
2 year certificate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required.
Experience:
1 year previous work experience preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
Licensed by the State of Nebraska.
R.R.T. registration required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and medical terminology.
Positions for each radiographic procedures and protection used.
Skills in:
Basic typing skills, general radiographic positioning, technique skills. X-Ray imaging and acquisition on equipment in radiology.
Physically fit to transport and lift patients to x-ray table.
Ability to:
Adjust techniques according to various body habitus.
Be able to reads, write and speak English fluently.
