Schedule/Shift: PRN Day Float Position
Acute Care and ICU experience preferred
We are seeking a highly motivated PRNOccupational Therapist to join our team in a designated float position, providing coverage across multiple care settings. This role will float between our Heart Hospitals in Plano, McKinney, and Denton, as well as our Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility in Denton, offering variety and exposure to diverse patient populations.
In this multi-site float role, you will evaluate and treat patients recovering from cardiac surgery, heart failure, and other complex cardiovascular conditions, with a focus on improving functional independence and quality of life. The ideal candidate will have acute care experience, adaptability, and a strong interest in working with medically complex patients in fast-paced environments.
This unique float opportunity allows you to expand your clinical skill set across two distinct care settings, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams at multiple locations, and make a meaningful impact on patient recovery across the continuum of care.
JOB SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
PATIENT CARE: Evaluates, treats and monitors patient. Modifies therapy program and goals.
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES: Performs thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately.
COMMUNICATION: Communicates effectively with patients and families, departmental coworkers, and members of the medical care team. Provides education to patients, family and staff.
CLINICAL SUPERVISION: Supervises support staff, students and volunteers.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Advances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review and implementation of evidence based practice. Shares knowledge to develop the clinical skills of collogues. Adheres to organizational, national, and state regulatory guidelines.
ORGANIZATIONAL FOCUS: Maintains awareness of system goals. Aligns individual goals and work activities to support or impact the system goals.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Must possess excellent interpersonal relation skills to include excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must demonstrate competency in assigned areas as specified for each clinician.
Exhibits strong interpersonal, teamwork and leadership skills with all levels of the healthcare team and assures delivery of excellent customer service to all patients, visitors, physicians and coworkers.
Possesses proficient computer knowledge; operates multiple computer systems and standard Rehabilitation equipment.
High attention to detail in fast paced and dynamic environment.
Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a high level of productivity.
