Coding Specialist /Full-Time
DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring optimum reimbursement based on accurate coding and for maintaining a quality patient clinical database. Assigns accurate diagnosis and procedure codes and captures pertinent clinical data elements on all inpatient/outpatient medical records of discharged patients. Reviews E&M levels selected by physicians on a monthly basis and provides feedback in order to increase awareness and accuracy.RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: CPC, CPC-H, (CPC highly desirable over the CPC-H); ICD-10 Certification. Credentials must be maintained.
