In this role, you will perform a variety of advanced imaging procedures—including MRI, MRA, MRV, and MIPS—while working closely with patients and physicians to ensure diagnostic accuracy and a supportive, patient-centered experience.
You will serve a culturally diverse community, helping every patient feel seen, respected, and safe throughout the imaging process. Your precision and dedication will directly affect timely diagnoses and improved health outcomes.
Primary responsibilities:
Perform all routine and specialized MRI procedures, including MRA, MRV, and MIPS, ensuring high-quality images and patient safety
Assess patient condition and understanding of the procedure; use immobilization devices and appropriate transfer techniques as needed
Screen all patients, staff, and visitors for MRI contraindications using verbal, written, and metal detection protocols
Ensure exam rooms are clean, well-organized, and fully equipped; set up and operate all essential imaging equipment, including coils and automatic injectors
Administer and monitor contrast media per departmental protocols, ensuring awareness of contraindications and prep requirements
Accurately complete all requisitions, documentation, registration, and scheduling; participate in QA initiatives and support training of students and staff
Qualifications:
Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
Current New York State license in Radiologic Technology
Current MRI certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Radiologic Technology preferred
At least 1 year of MRI experience (preferred), with experience using GE scanners preferred
Hospital experience highly preferred
Current BLS certification
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
