OverviewThe Occupational Health Nurse serves as the primary agent for the organization and implementation of all occupational health and safety related activities for all WakeMed facilities. The customer population is defined as all WakeMed employees, medical staff, contractors, academic staff, and volunteers. Activities include: evaluation and intervention for all healthcare workers who might harbor infectious agents; evaluation and follow-up for employees who have been exposed to hazardous or infectious agents in the workplace; serves as case manager for occupational injuries/illnesses and the return-to-work process; ensuring that all facilities meet the requirements of the NC Occupational Safety and Health Act; serves as an employee advocate related to health
