The role you’ll contribute:
The Volunteer Services Manager is critical member of the Volunteer Services team. They lead hospital volunteers in their markets for the Central Florida Division South Region. They are responsible for managing best-practice initiatives and bringing resources to departments to enhance the patient and team member experience. They act as a subject matter expert in regulatory compliance, volunteer systems, recruiting, orientation and retention. They serve as supervisor for Volunteer Services Recruiters and volunteers in their market and utilize knowledge of policy and procedures, hospital regulations and inter-departmental functions. Responsible for development and expansion of volunteer systems, reporting, regulatory compliance and growth of generosity through volunteer initiatives that align with campus priorities. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

- Builds relationships with Campus leadership, and department leaders that partner to develop and identify volunteer roles that meet the business needs of the hospital and positively impact patient and team member experience.
- Rounds with and supports recruiters to ensure engagement, maximize productivity, consistency, and accountability while identifying volunteer and hospital initiatives to achieve benchmarks through use of individual development plans, hospital visits, team meetings and observations.
- Continuously evaluates and streamlines processes to reduce expenses and provide efficiency paths for Volunteer Service that meet regulatory standards and are consistent for all users.
- Collaborates with Volunteer Services Senior Manager to create reports for tracked metrics, maintaining accurate records and compliance for all areas of responsibility.
- Effectively coaches, counsel and resolves conflicts and concerns acting on the volunteer’s behalf and takes corrective action per human resource guidelines.
- Collaborates with department leaders and the program manager to create programming that supports and enhances the patient, visitor, or team member experience.
- Identify opportunities to partner with community organizations and schools to develop volunteer and intern pipelines that support volunteerism in the hospital.
- Stays current on volunteer trends and participates in state and national organizations.
- Maintains knowledge of regulatory requirements, laws and policies as it pertains to volunteer service in the hospital setting.
- Develop and submit for approval policies and standard operating procedures as needed.
- Executes external volunteer recruitment strategy for the region. Create relationships and aligns our hospital goals with our community and educational partners initiatives to create a pipeline of volunteers that deliver exceptional service
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed
- Bachelor's Required, Master's Preferred
- Two Years of Direct experience Required
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Positive attitude and a team player with the ability to work independently, troubleshoot, and make sound decisions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to effectively respond to time-sensitive issues and meet deadlines
- Detail oriented and able to maintain confidentiality
- Accepts constructive criticism and applies correction towards improving skills
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals, while striving for excellence
- Strong skills in developing relationships with the ability to influence and change behaviors
- Ability to communicates with all personnel levels
- Excellent public speaking skills
- Knowledge and application/SharePoint/Teams/Zoom or other similar platforms
- Ability to manage and update training materials and resources for volunteer training
- Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services (CAVS) Preferred
