Join our team working in preclinical research studies and we?ll invest in training you in basic histology and necropsy work. Once you are fully trained it?s up you to use those skills to move into future position such as Study Technician Pathology!
This is a great entry level position, and we are open to a variety of backgrounds including but not limited to; candidates with some college or college degree in related field and eager to gain hands on experience OR HS Diploma that has 1 year of related lab experience looking to grow those skills. Must be comfortable working in Animal Research setting. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
? Supports technical staff by performing laboratory setup, cleaning, organization of tissue inventory and ensuring adequate levels of supplies and providing assistance as necessary.
? Work will focus on laboratory study setup, study support, prepping labels, cassette and slides for histology and necropsy work
? Bagging and organizing tissues for pre-archiving process
? Will become familiar with self with basic anatomic terms and study protocol language
? Learns to understand and participates in quality controls and assures corrections of errors
? Requires the ability to manage time effectively
? Must be able to adapt and learn techniques to new situations and procedures
? Requires a strong commitment to teamwork and contributes toward a cohesive team environment
? Requires maintaining a clean and safe work environment including following all protocol including appropriate use of PPE
? Facilitates or participates in projects to improve efficiency, quality, safety etc
? Follows appropriate PPE requirements
? Must be comfortable working in a preclinical (animal) research laboratory setting
Shift/hours
? Day time work hours Monday-Friday and requires working every 3rd weekend, as this is year around 40 hour a week position, we are not able to consider candidates looking for seasonal or summer employment.
? May have mandatory OT requirements

Education/Experience/Qualifications
? HS Diploma or equivalent required
? Prefer but not required college level laboratory classroom work and/or 1 year of experience working with laboratory samples in laboratory or veterinary office.
? Familiarity with laboratory equipment preferred
