Overview
The Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) functions as a healthcare provider who is responsible for providing comprehensive care to our community. This position demonstrates a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses. He/she is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs. The APC demonstrates an advanced level of clinical knowledge, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism, and systems-based practice. They will collaborate to assure safe and effective quality patient care and promote Beebe's missions. All APCs are eligible to begin practice after they have been credentialed and privileged by Beebe Healthcare.
Responsibilities
Performs routine fluoroscopy examinations and procedures, including contrast media administration, placement of needle or catheter, and operation of imaging equipment, under the immediate available direction of a radiologist
Performs specialized imaging procedures under the supervision of a radiologist
Exercises autonomy in decision making with regards to patient assessment, patient management, and in providing a broad range of diagnostic and interventional services
Performs history and physical assessments of patients that are accurate, complete, concise, relevant and appropriate for age, gender, and clinical treatment.
Obtains informed consent prior to the procedure.
Evaluate images for completeness and diagnostic quality
Scribes preliminary draft reports on Fluoroscopy and X-Ray exams to be reviewed and finalized by an attending radiologist
Participates in policy and procedure updates and review
Protocols Fluoroscopy examinations
Act as a liaison between referring services and Radiologist
Aids in communicating findings to patients and their health care providers.
The clinician possesses a high degree of manual dexterity.
Ability to work well in a high-volume practice with the ability and flexibility to learn new skills
Counsels and educates patients and families
Demonstrates proficiency in procedural skills pertinent to practice area
Actively participates in self-evaluation by seeking and utilizing guidance and constructive feedback in a professional manner
Continuously seeks opportunities for clinician advancement, knowledge and skill attainment
Qualifications
Previous experience as an advanced practice clinician preferred
Previous experience completing hospital-based procedures with or without ultrasound, fluoroscopy preferred
Credentials
Licensure/Certification
Maintain a current BLS and ACLS certification
Registered/licensed RRA/RPA and Radiologic Technologist in the State of Delaware
In good standing and active registration with ARRT and/or CBRPA
Education
Master's Degree in Registered Radiologist Assistant/Health Sciences
