About the opportunity:
Transcribe medication orders into the hospital information system, fill orders for parenteral or oral medication, monitor patient drug therapies, and provide drug information.
This position is Part Time working 27 hrs/week.
What you will do:
Interpret medication orders and accurately transcribe them into the computerized patient medication profile.
Monitor drug therapy regimens to evaluate drug selection and dosing, and make recommendations for therapy alterations to the LIP.
Provide care based upon physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety that is appropriate for the age of the patient served.
Direct and supervise pharmacy technicians.
Provide pharmacokinetic consult services for patients receiving aminoglycocides and other high-risk medications. This also involves interpreting lab data for these medications
Detect and report adverse drug reactions and medication errors according to the approved method
Monitor warfarin patients for therapeutic compliance by testing the INR. Adjust warfarin dosing to maintain INR within appropriate therapeutic range. Order enoxaparin bridging therapy per protocol. Provide direct patient education when requested.
Participate in compliance auditing as requested.
Precept pharmacy students
Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including sterile, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products.

What you will need:
Experience:
Experience in the healthcare industry is required. Previous experience with a changing work load, schedule, and priorities is preferred.
License(s):
State of Colorado Pharmacist license required.
Certification(s):
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Computer / Typing:
Must be adept at typing and using various computer programs. Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
