Employee will serve as a Social Science Program Specialist - Community Engagement and Partnership Coordinator within the Behavioral Health Service at the VA Medical center located in Spokane, Washington. Develops and maintains content expertise in suicide prevention through networking, internet access, published literature, national conference calls, and education offerings and professional meetings. Oversees outreach to education community partners, the media, VA and other government stakeholders to enhance the development of suicide prevention coalitions. Provides a variety of suicide prevention trainings and develops training programs for staff and external stakeholders regarding suicide prevention. Serves as the primary point of contact for the dissemination of information related to Veterans Health Administration (VHA)'s efforts to prevent Veteran suicide. Develops/coordinates graphics requirements, including databases, tables and spreadsheets. Provides suicide prevention related media/marketing, including interviews, social media postings, and communication campaigns. Serves as approving official for Fund Control Points related to the program and ensures funds are properly allocated, expended accurately and invoices are certified timely.
