Role Purpose
Manages the hospital's outreach and educational initiatives through Trauma Services. Initiatives include educational programs regarding emergency care to ill or injured children for Emergency Medical Services personnel, community hospital personnel, allied health care professionals and SLCH's personnel. Acts as liaison to external medical facilities, EMS services and training facilities.
Responsibilities
Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Serves as a lead for strategic planning and program development, coordination and delivery processes relating to pre-hospital outreach initiatives.
Develops business plans and feasibility studies related to new program development.
Develops and implements paramedic student clinical rotations.
Collaborates and partners with key departments involved in providing pre-hospital and emergency medical services outreach.
Creates opportunities for exporting educational and outreach initiatives into the regions.
