Position Summary:: The OR Technical Support Staff strives to maintain a safe, sanitary environment for patients, visitors and staff by utilizing available resources and basic technical and housekeeping skills.1.Provides overall technical support to the surgery department, ensuring fast turn around time, accuracy, and completeness of work. 2.Identifies, develops and implement improvements to continuously meet the needs of the department. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of work practices, emergency procedures, and personal protective equipment. 3.Is knowledgeable of the contents of the MSDS manual. Emphasizes safety and infection control relative to all services provided.4.Demonstrates working knowledge of video equipment. Ability to in-service staff on new and existing equipment. Utilizes, maintains, and stores equipment properly.5.Assists in parts inventory, setup and delivery of equipment to OR for room set up implements new systems and procedures to ensure overall service effectiveness.6.Demonstrates proper handling of linen, trash, and biohazardous trash.7.Cleans and completes room turn-overs according to unit policy and procedure. Follows JACHO and AORN standards for cleaning OR rooms during turnovers and terminally cleaning.8.Demonstrates safe transportation of patients to and from the surgery department while assisting nursing personnel.
