The Pharmacist - Facility Program Manger, will serve as the Clinical Quality Manager providing leadership for the quality management program by championing the use of clinical and business best practices for integrated multidisciplinary call center medication management systems, assuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient care. Administrative duties: Plan and prioritize projects through effective activity planning, resource allocation, budgetary control, scope management, and time utilization to achieve project success. Provide leadership in evaluating quality management activities that enhance clinical response accuracy, promote patient safety, and create patient confidence in health care services. Serve as a quality control consultant for all aspects of Pharmacy Service interactions with both internal and external customers. Conduct quality control procedures and implement check systems. Evaluate results and recommend changes to maintain and improve quality. Plan clinical quality management studies, including development of appropriate and valid study methodology; analyze data and report information to identify the need for change, minimize risk, and ensure effectiveness of quality improvement activities. Clinical duties: Promote quality in clinical practice by collaborating in the development of guidelines, criteria, and models for the delivery of services to Veterans and their caregivers. Establish policies and procedures that are compliant with applicable regulators such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA); Develop, implement, integrate, and maintain the quality management and patient safety program to evaluate and improve the quality and timeliness of clinical services. Trend new applications, and research in the field of clinical management to effectively advise the Pharmacy Director and other management on new methods and procedures that can be adopted to achieve overall improvements in systems and programs. Research duties: Provide leadership in developing and evaluating new process improvement technologies that will enhance patient safety and promote patient confidence in the health care setting. Develop clinical quality performance models that reduce workarounds. Actively participate in data requirements modeling, data assessments, and facility trending that result in Clinical Pharmacy Resource / Pharmacy Customer Care process improvements. Supervision of Staff Plan the work assignments required for completion of PS goals and objectives, adjusting for short- and long-term priorities. Develop performance standards that are realistic, challenging, and support the organizational mission, vision and goals. Ensure that employees meet performance standards and identify areas for improvement as needed. Interview candidates for positions in the unit and recommend final appointment, promotion, or reassignment to subordinate positions. Hear and resolve complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved issues or complaints to the Pharmacy Services Director. Effect minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, recommending other action in more serious cases.
