The Health Technician is primarily responsible for providing support to staff by monitoring cardiac rhythms of telemetry patients and remote continuous patient observation and telesitter monitoring system, at the central station according to telemetry protocols and telesitter protocols. Duties include, but are not limited to: Admits and discharges patients to/from the telemetry monitoring system per physician orders. Views patient cardiac rhythms at the central monitoring station and responds to alarms based on telemetry protocols. Demonstrates technical analysis of fundamental cardiac rhythms and detections of lethal arrhythmias, acute rhythm abnormalities, telemetry settings and alarm levels, and the effects/potential effects on patients and treatments.
