Fairview Lakes Medical Center is looking for a Float Pool Nursing Station Technician (NST).
.9 FTE, benefit eligible
12 hour shifts
Every other weekend
Location: Wyoming, MN
This is a fast paced, growing community hospital. This position floats between out Medical Surgical, ICU and Birthplace inpatient units, with a lot of opportunities to grow and learn. The culture at Lakes is supportive of people pursuing their fullest potential and being part of a hardworking team.
Float NSTs report to the Inpatient Care Supervisor (PCS) who represents this team separately from the RN team. RN managers and the PCS work closely to ensure the care we give is the best possible for our patients, and all of our employees have the chance to work in a healthy and collaborative environment.
The Nursing Station Technician position works in the float pool and is responsible for assisting with patient care, performing receptionist duties on the station, and maintaining patient care areas.
To be successful, the Nursing Station Tech. must be able to:
Facilitate room turnover
Provide patient care
Maintain unit supplies
Coordinate activities of nursing station to support patient care
Manage medical record flow and patient care charts
Provides excellent customer service
Performs other duties as assisgned
Keywords: Certified Nursing Assistant, CNA, NA, PCA, Personal Care Attendant
BLS certification thru the American Red Cross or American Heart Association for healthcare providers.
Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position (exception: M Health Fairview West Bank Nursing Assistants or Current enrollment in an RN program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program
Knowledge of medical terminology, communication skills and computer proficiency.
High school diploma or GED.
Successful completion of a health unit coordinator program or equivalent experience.
