Under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor you will:
Perform a wide range of clinical laboratory testing to assist in the diagnosing and treating of patients
Analyze, review and confirm accuracy of results and take remedial actions
Adhere to QC/QA policies and procedures including federal, state and CAP regulations
Perform instrument maintenance and documentation within established time frame
Complete Hospital and departmental annual in-service requirements
Participate in educational in-service requirements including CAP and NYSDOH surveys
Utilize LIS for reporting, documenting QC and distribution of data
Ideally, you must possess:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent physical sciences
Minimum 2 years' experience in an accredited clinical laboratory setting
New York State License as a Laboratory Technologist
ASCP certification and/or qualification in Immunohistochemistry (QIHC) highly preferred
Working knowledge of instrumentation and equipment used in a Clinical Chemistry laboratory
Basic knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems
Good oral and written communication skills
