The Operating Room Registered Nurse Assessment Circulator is expected to meet the job requirements/competencies for all the Surgical Services areas in which a registered nurse may practice. These include Day Surgery Unit (DSU), Operating Room (OR), Holding Area, and Postanesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Assignments and call are based on the needs of the Surgical Services Departments and coordinated by the OR Supervisor. Under the general supervision of the designated Surgical Services Supervisor, the Operating Room Registered Nurse Assessment Circulator is responsible for rendering and/or directing professional and nonprofessional personnel in the delivery of patient care by use of the nursing process, and for coordination of related activities.
Graduate of a nursing program, BSN preferred
3 years acute care preferred
Current Louisiana Registered Nursing license
BLS completed, ACLS preferred but optional
Certified Nurse of Operating Room (CNOR) preferred
