The Coordinator - Infection Prevention is responsible for developing, monitoring and evaluating an effective hospitalwide program for the surveillance, prevention and control of infection.Participates in hospitalwide Performance Improvement program to provide input and gain information especially related to area of practice.
BS in Nursing required; Masters Degree in Nursing or related area preferred.
Current RN licensure with SC State Board of Nursing.
Minimum of 5 years of in-hospital clinical nursing required.
One year of experience in infection control preferred.
Has attended or will attend basic Training Course in the fundamentals of surveillance and prevention
Demonstratesknowledge of the principles of epidemiology, infectious diseases, microbiology, and biostatistics
National Certification in infection control preferred.
Membership in the Association for Practitioners in Infection Control (APIC) encouraged.
