Be at the forefront of cutting-edge medicine. The Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program (BMT) is looking for a dynamic nurse leader to support and lead our busy Adult BMT program at UMMC East Bank Campus.
This position is responsible for assisting the Manager/Director with department operations. This includes supervision of personnel and projects as delegated, including but not limited to hiring, discipline and performance evaluations.
Develop expertise in the BMT intake role and share intake responsibility with lead intake staff
Provide daily front line staff problem solving support
Maintain clinical expertise by supporting providers(s) in clinic
Work in collaboration with Admin and Peds BMT supervisors to improve quality, safety, efficiency, and daily workflows within the BMT program. Standardize Adult and Peds Process when possible
Evaluate Nurse coordination workload on an ongoing basis and adjust assignments according
Asses developmental/educational needs of NC staff and develop and implement plans to meet the need
Work with BMT Leadership to represent BMT program office at organizational meeting and collaborate with internal and external departments to meet program goals
Work alongside BMT leadership to understand and improve organizational processes as they pertain to BMT (EPIC enhancements, CSC scheduling issue, CTO logistic planning)
Identify and bridge process/programmatic gaps within the BMT program
Working in conjunction with leadership and staff to identify and monitor key departmental metrics in order to improve quality, safety, communication and streamline workflows etc
Develop/maintain detailed process flow map for BMT workflows
Supervises staff on patient care unit
Interviews and selects qualified employees to fill vacancies and build a team.
