The Department of Nutrition & Food Services has two major divisions: nutrition services and food services.
The Department provides professional nutrition services and food to patients in the hospitals and clinics at Parnassus and Mount Zion sites. It is also operates a retail cafeteria at Parnassus and provides a full range of catering services to the Medical Center, Mount Zion, Mission Bay, campus, and the surrounding community.
Reporting to the Director, Department of Nutrition and Food Services, the Clinical Nutrition Services Director is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for inpatient and outpatient nutrition services at all UCSF Medical Center sites and for directing the UCSF Medical Center dietetic internship.
Seven years experience as a Registered Dietitian, including two years experience as a Registered Dietitian in an acute care setting
Registered Dietitian (RD)
Master's Degree in Nutrition or related field from a regionally accredited university
Leadership experience managing a defined nutrition unit, employee supervision, and problem solving that required independent action, judgment, and decision-making where no precedent existed
Previous experience teaching dietetic interns or other students
Successful completion of an approved or accredited didactic and an accredited dietetic internship with a strong clinical component
The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations
Ten years experience including two years in large academic medical centers or hospitals
Two years experience as a chief clinical dietitian or other position with clinical management responsibility
Previous experience supervising dietetic interns
Knowledge of ACEND standards
Knowledge of CA Title 22, CMS and TJC regulations
Previous experience with curriculum design & evaluation
Specialty practice credential relevant to clinical nutrition or management (e.g. CDE, CNSC, CSP, etc.)
