THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE MENTORED IN A NETWORKED ENVIRONMENT
Expert Hearing Care extern training is in full collaboration with two ENT offices and a PhD audiologist, all of whom who will serve as additional mentors. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be trained by four local professionals with various expertise. Our environment allows flexibility for developing a wide variety of hands on experiences and audiologic training with Dr. Robert Ivey, Ph.D. Audiologist, at the Rio Grande Hearing Center, Dr. John Owens, M.D. Otolaryngology (ENT), of the Memorial Ear, Nose, and Throat Institute, and Dr. Byron Erstine, D.O., Otolaryngology (ENT) of the National Science Institute.
Our team provides a full range of diagnostic audiologic testing for the ENTs Dr. Owens and Dr. Erstine, and many primary care physicians for both the adult and pediatric populations. You will have the opportunity to learn about and engage in recommending, dispensing, selecting, testing, and fitting hearing aids, and in activating, adjusting, and counseling patients on BAHA and cochlear implant devices. In our collaboration with Dr. Ivey (our local PhD audiologist), you will have the opportunity to learn about and conduct vestibular testing (VNG), electrophysiologic testing (ABR), and central auditory processing testing.
As a member of our team, you will be involved in public outreach and community education.
Over the last 20 years, we have trained 25 doctoral externs from all over the country and world with 100% professional placement upon completion of their programs

The owner and founder has 35 years of professional experience and is one of the practicing audiologist. The practice currently employs two additional audiologists, a manager, and a small, versatile front office staff. We have strong relationships with local ENT physicians and are their primary referral for audiological services.
