The Medical Technologist performs moderate to complex analysis of laboratory specimens and confirms/verifies results utilizing in-depth knowledge of conditions affecting test results. This night shift position works collaboratively with providers and staff from various YRMC departments, providing results that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and the promotion of wellness.
Associate's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology or related field; Bachelor’s preferred
MT, MLT or CLS certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology or American Medical Technologists
Experience with hospital laboratory information systems
Ability to recognize technical, instrumental, or physiological issues within the testing and analysis process
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows; EMR and Cerner strongly preferred
