Lead Phlebotomist (Peds Outpatient Clinic - Edward Curd Lane)
Your Role:
Oversees the daily operations, staffing, and workflow in the department to ensure consistent superior customer service and turnaround time independently. Oversees consistent compliance with department policies, procedures, and operational guidelines and has a key role in training, competency assessment, safety and compliance. In the absence of an on-site supervisor, will assume a leadership role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides patient care.
- Delivery and receipt of laboratory specimens.
- Provides direction to Phlebotomist I and IIs.
- Trains and develops Phlebotomists and Sr Phlebotomists.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:
PHLEBOTOMY (NOVICE): - Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate phlebotomy in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
SPECIMEN COLLECTION - (NOVICE): - Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate specimen collection in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
QUALITY ASSURANCE - (FUNDAMENTAL AWARENESS): - Understands the goal of increasing organizational productivity and individual performance by making the products and services within your work assignments more efficient and more effective. Demonstrates quality management practices on the job which result in superior products and services delivered.
MENTORING & COACHING - (FUNDAMENTAL AWARENESS): - Has training, direct exposure, limited experience, or past experience in mentoring and training others. Has mentored and/or trained co-workers on a team on a technical or functional subject.

High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) and 3 years relevant experience
