JOB SUMMARY: Functions as the liaison between the patient care units and the Department of Foodservices.
Responsible for distribution & explanation of patient menus, assisting patients with diet appropriate menu selections, setting-up and delivering meal trays and snacks, working collaboratively with nursing and the clinical team to provide the best possible patient experience.
COMPENTENCIES AND SKILLS: Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers or workstations. Knowledge and understanding of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Customer service skills is a series of activities designed to enhance the level of customer satisfaction, that is, the feeling that a product or service has met the customer expectation. Must be able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment. Demonstrates ability to perform mathematical calculations (percentages, ratios)
Demonstrates ability to work independently with little guidance and direction.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSCIAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in an office/food service setting.
Constant walking and standing is involved.
Requires ability to bend, lift, carry, and push when performing duties.

GEISINGER-COMMUNITY MEDICAL CENTER (G-CMC), Scranton, Pa., is an acute care hospital licensed for 297 beds and houses the only Level II Trauma Center in Lackawanna County and Scranton’s only neurosurgery program and adult in-patient behavioral health unit.
