Responsible for strategically planning and implementing outreach efforts focusing on physicians, physicians assistants and nurse practitioners in the hospitalï¿½s service areas (collectively, Physicians) to best grow and develop hospital service lines as described in Tenetï¿½s Guidance on Creation and Enhancement of Service Lines at Hospitals and the hospital business plans. The position primarily focuses on educating Physicians on pre-specified service lines, with the goal of increasing the selection of our services by Physicians due to our high standards for clinical quality and service. Work to be performed in compliance with the Companyï¿½s Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures, particularly those involving referral source arrangements.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for strategically planning and implementing visits to Physicians, Physician office staffs throughout the primary and secondary markets in an effort to increase the selection of the hospitalï¿½s services based on its high levels of clinical quality and service. Should focus on Physicians who are approved by Group VP of Business Development and Group CSO.
Report on the activity level and outcomes of activities on a regular basis.
Thoroughly research Physicians to understand where and why they refer patients to our hospitals or other hospitals and where they perform their procedures and why. Work with key hospital department members to implement operational fixes that may be needed to better serve patients.
Provide intelligence to appropriate hospital departments as to process improvements suggested by Physicians.
Provide input to the Group VP of Business Development who creates a list of approved Physicians highlighting where the PRM should focus their time.
Assist in the development of service line marketing plans.
Demonstrate knowledge of the hospitalï¿½s and other providersï¿½ strengths and weaknesses within defined service lines. Should be the go-to source for knowledge within assigned service lines.
Serve as a resource for the hospital in the development and implementation of physician recruitment and retention plans. Work to redirect in market physicians and help with onboarding of new physicians who will work within service lines.
Monitor physician patterns of utilization of the hospital for the purpose of identifying process improvement opportunities.
Document all activities and issues in appropriate PRM tool. Manage issue resolution or coordinate with hospital Physician Liaison or appropriate director to resolve issues and communicate the resolution to appropriate stakeholders.
Responsible for performing within a culture within the team of the highest ethical standards, strict adherence to company policies and procedures and demonstrating the skills necessary to grow based on quality, service and outcomes and not referral source contracts or arrangements.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Education Required: Bachelors degree in Marketing/Sales or a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience Preferred Education: Masterï¿½s degree in Business or Healthcare
Experience Required: 5 years of experience in a related field such as physician relations, network development, medically-related sales, or a similar role in a hospital or other healthcare setting, preferably from Tenet or a company with a robust ethics and compliance program.
Other Requirements ï¿½ Possess and demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, facilitation, oral and written communication skills. ï¿½ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. ï¿½ Ability to travel 5% of time.
