Reporting to the Executive Director of Communications, you will support communications strategies, programs and policies related to UCLA Health patients (inpatient and ambulatory) and customers. In this role, you will implement communication plans that ensure consistent, high-quality messaging across channels, syncing communication efforts with ongoing communications strategies, and making content assets more effective and efficient.
As our Internal Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for managing existing communications systems, platforms and media. Through integrated brand and content strategies that engage system-wide stakeholders, you will drive department and institutional goals, including brand awareness, reputation enhancement, messaging alignment and population health. You will be responsible for serving as an editor and assuring editorial content, messages and design reflect UCLA Health’s voice and brand standards through print, online and social media. and will support internal stakeholders, building relationships and gathering insights.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or closely related field is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 2 years related corporate communications experience, preferably in a large and complex healthcare environment.
Must have public relations and media relations experience.
Strong editorial skills and experience with AP
Demonstrated ability to translate health and science information to the general public
Strong understanding and experience utilizing multiple social media platforms for a professional organization.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong networks.
Self-starter, able to drive high volume of work to completion with minimum guidance.
Must be proactive, results oriented and have strong attention to detail.
Capable of effectively prioritizing and managing multiple tasks to meet targeted deadlines.
Ability to be flexible in a dynamic and changing environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
