This position is responsible for providing strategy, vision, implementation and maintenance of the enterprise data model geared toward supporting the Heath plan business. Works under the guidance of the Data Management leadership, and works closely with the other UDA team members, including data modelers, Business Analyst, ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) Developers, Big Data Administrator and Analytic Users to develop an integrated data warehouse to support the business intelligence and analytic needs of the health plan.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates an expert level ability to utilize multiple tools and industry standards used in translating business requirements into conceptual design into an implementable data architecture that meet requirements, adheres to constraints, and reduces risks.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills along with excellent administrative and facilitation skills.
Demonstrates the ability to develop analytic and reporting strategies and proposals and influence outcomes.
Three to five years Health Insurance experience is preferred along with experience working with datasets from claims processing systems like Trizetto Facets.
Experience with RDBMS and Datawarehouse systems required. OLAP experience preferred. Experience with large databases (>5M rows) preferred. ETL and SQL experience preferred.
Knowledge of Big data systems preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree or Associate’s degree in Computer Science or commensurate experience.
Minimum of nine to ten years of IT and business experience required, with at least five years experience gathering and translating business requirements into conceptual, logical and physical data models.
Minimum of two to three years of full life-cycle Data Warehouse experience, with three to five years designing and developing data models for data warehouses, data marts, operational data stores, and/or operational databases; using data analysis, profiling, modeling, integration and cleaning software tools; applying general coding standards/conventions and applying general metadata design standards.
Past experience in providing development leadership for a technical team is required.
Industry certifications and training preferred, whether vendor-specific or nationally recognized programs such as DAMA Certified Data Management Professional Certification Program (CDMP) or Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) - Data Integration.
Experience in health care or health payer systems is preferred.
If a suitably experienced candidate cannot be found, applicants who meet the basic qualifications but possess fewer years of experience will be considered for hire at a lower level. Salary would commensurate with experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment with occasional travel to different buildings. Mostly sedentary work interacting with computers and people. Requires ability to perform visual inspection and lifting less than 10 pounds.
