The Sr. Director of Clinical Revenue Integrity (CRI) Coding Services is responsible for the leadership, development, operational and fiscal management for Conifer Health Coding Services. This position will be responsible for developing and executing key performance indicators within the Coding Services solution. This involves leading multiple levels of subordinate leaders who may be working onsite or telecommuting from multiple geographic locations in reengineering applicable processes and organizational design to achieve optimal client and Conifer Health performance. This position is responsible for developing and executing against associated budgets, ensures all spending is within budgetary guidelines, P&Ls and operational margins are met or exceeded.
Overall, the position is responsible for all functions within Conifer Healthï¿½s CRI Coding Services while serving as an integral part of the CRI team for assessment of potential clients, review potential areas of improvement and make recommendation as part of the overall plan of action.

Ability to develop policies and procedures for optimal revenue through coding while adhering to all regulatory and compliance standards

Abides by the Standards of Ethical coding set forth by AHIMA and monitors coding team for violations and reports as areas of concern are identified.
Maintains knowledge of current technical and professional coding certification requirements and promotes recruitment and retention of certified staff in coding positions
Support the collaboration between coding, HIM, CDI, Coding Compliance & Quality Operations and medical staff.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and/or projects in an atmosphere of rapidly changing priorities and/or deadlines.
Ability to identify and develop potential business opportunities
Thorough knowledge of coding regulatory and compliance requirements.
Thorough knowledge of managing applicable financials including P&Ls and margin.
Knowledge of DRG classification and reimbursement structures.
Ability to communicate and form working relationships with staff, clients, and revenue cycle partners at all levels
Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient/employee/facility/corporate information at all times
Ability to manage virtual and local client leaders and staff
Demonstrates accountability for all areas managed.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.
Seven (7) years of recent experience in coding leadership work in the field.
Bachelor degree in Health Information Management and or relevant Bachelorï¿½s degree with 10 years in a comparable position preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Required: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or (RHIT) or relevant credential
Preferred: Current CCS credential

Approximately 50-75% travel may be required
