Patient Meal Service: Works various tray line positions. Pass and retrieve trays to/from patients. May be assigned to visit patients for menu selections. Works in dish room, including washing pots and pans. Cleans all assigned work areas, including sweeping and mopping of floors and refrigerators. Re-stocks food and non-food supplies in work areas. May make patient snacks and/or deliver snacks/supplies to the patient care units. Removes garbage and boxes from department per policy and procedure. Sweeps and mops floors throughout the department.
Cafeteria Meal Service: Serves customers in cafeteria. Sets up/breaks down serving areas and re-stocks food and supplies needed. Works in the Physicianï¿½s dining room as assigned. Works as cashier as assigned. Opens and/or closes cafeteria per policies and procedures. Works the grill as necessary. Records temperatures of the food, freezers and refrigerators daily. Works in dish room, pots and pans and tray line as necessary. Removes garbage and boxes per department per policy. Sweeps and mops floors in the serving and dining areas.
May be cross-trained to set-up and work the meal cart in the Victor Ferris Building.
Exhibits excellent customer service skills in all interactions with patients, visitors, Physicians, co-workers, hospital and supervisory staff.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor, Manager and/or Director.
Minimum Education / Licensure / Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent or currently enrolled in school/program or equivalent related experience preferred. Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Foodservice experience preferred.
Frequently required to lift 5-40 pounds.
Occasionally may lift greater than 40 pounds with assistance of staff member and/or approved lifting devise.
Frequently required to operate standard office machines, computers and telephones.
Frequently required to walk, bend, push and pull.
Required to have adequate vision and hearing.
