Our client, a regional medical center with 115 licensed beds, serves a population of 108,000, and offers a wide range of primary and specialty care in nine locations throughout the area including 7 health centers. The President and CEO will lead the organization at a time of unprecedented change in healthcare and ensure ongoing sustainability in a rapidly changing market in the North Country of NY State.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, the President and CEO will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the system and to provide the leadership, direction, and administration for all aspects of the hospital and affiliate activities, ensuring quality patient care and financial solvency. S/he has overall accountability and comprehensive decision-making authority over the Medical Center and its affiliates and participates with other members of the senior management staff in identifying both short and long-term goals and strategic plans.
The successful candidate will have an advanced degree in Healthcare Management, Business and/or other relevant fields with a minimum of 10 to 15 years of increasing levels of responsibility in leadership. S/he will possess strong communication skills and knowledge of healthcare trends. This executive is a strategic thinker, a visionary with a proactive and engaging leadership style. Prior experience in a regional health system and system development is desirable, as is experience in rural healthcare.
