Provides accounting support with a high degree of accuracy to ensure accurate and timely financial statement presentations. Assists in the preparation and review of Geisinger Insurance Operations financial statements through maintenance and review of all general ledger (GL) reports while completing other assigned duties in a timely manner.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of GIO Financial Reporting in its efforts to produce timely and accurate financial statements. Includes the creation and maintenance of automated financial reports and providing training to various departments in the utilization of the Lawson GL and Accounts Payable (AP) systems to help manage their respective departmental budgets.
Works directly under the supervision of the Manager, Corporate Accounting. Assists financial analysts with the preparation of medical expense entries and analysis, premium revenue analysis, and reinsurance analysis. Maintains high dollar medical claim analysis. Provides training and assistance as needed to Finance Clerk (Financial Reporting/ Accounts Payable).

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree in Accounting or Business required. Minimum of four years experience in General Accounting, Bookkeeping or related field required.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of seven years experience in General Accounting, Bookkeeping or related field required.
