SandyPines is a 149 bed Residential Psychiatric Facility servicing children and adolescents ages 5 to 17. The facility is located in beautiful sub-tropical South Florida and is nestled beside Johnathan Dickinson State Park which creates a rustic, roomy outdoor atmosphere. SandyPines is at the county line of both Palm Beach and Martin Counties and is just minutes away from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
The Lead Therapist will provide supervision to therapists on an as needed basis under the direction of the director of clinical services. The Lead Therapist shall demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with both clients and staff, and prioritize the multiple demands of the position. Excellent judgment and clinical skills are essential for this position. The Lead Therapist is responsible for their own clinical growth through the attendance of in-services, presentations, and other continuing education activities. In addition, the Lead Therapist shall carry a caseload of approximately 5-6 residents. The Lead therapist will assist director of clinical services with administrative tasks, administrative supervision of therapists, and provide oversight and implementation of clinical programs.

Assists in interviewing, hiring, and training therapists.
Provides weekly treatment team meeting, session, and staffing coverage for therapists who are on vacation or call out sick.
Attends weekly treatment team meetings and staffings for complex cases in order to provide additional clinical support.
Monitors key indicators that are reported in Committee of the Whole.
Provides administrative supervision for assigned therapists.
Assists in tracking and signing clinical documentation including: notes, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, treatment plan addendums, and outcome assessments.
Assists in conducting portion of orientation and training for new hires.
Assists in completing chart audits for current and discharged residents.
Assists in management, development, and implementation of clinical programs including but not limited to: chemical dependency, trauma, and R.O.P.E.S.
Assists in tracking compliance of outcomes per Joint Commission standards.
Conducts clinical staff meeting in director's absence.
Attends all bi-weekly unit based meetings in order to provide clinical feedback.
Assists in tracking vacation requests and scheduling per diem coverage.
Assist in development of training calendar for clinical department.
Completes case assignments and reviews clinical documentation for new residents in director's absence.
Exercises appropriate clinical judgment when treating all residents and when supervising therapists.
Provides direct counseling services, maintaining a half caseload.
Completes documentation for caseload including but not limited to: progress notes, treatment plans, weekly treatment team meetings, and group notes.
Conducts group therapy as assigned.Group topics are appropriate, demonstrate creativity, are non- repetitive, and demonstrate relevance to the resident's goals/objectives.Documentation supports relevance to the resident's goals/objectives and how they responded to the group topic.
Attends all required meetings and in-services.If not present, takes initiative in getting missed information from co-workers.
Coordinates discharge planning with case manager(s).Ensures contact is made to the discharge placement prior to the client's discharge from the facility and documents this in a progress note.
Progress notes are submitted to the Clinical Director in a timely manner as per policy and procedure.
Makes all necessary corrections per supervisory/peer chart reviews and submits those corrections to the director of clinical services in the required timeframe.
Responds to requests for information, records, etc. from parent/guardian/collateral contacts in a timely manner.
