The Self Pay and Payment Post Account Representative is responsible for the effective and creative use of proven follow-up techniques, and self-directed initiative, to contact patients to collect payments and resolve outstanding account balances on accounts. The Self Pay and Payment Post Account Representative responsibility includes the oversight and management of outstanding accounts receivable assigned to the Self Pay and Payment Post Account Representative in a manner which will maximize the collection of cash and achieve the hospitals financial and business office performance objectives.
As a member of the business office staff, the Self Pay and Payment Post Account Representative is responsible for contributing to improved operations and for promoting teamwork throughout the business office. The Self Pay and Payment Post Account Representative will assist the hospital in maintaining the highest level of integrity and compliance with known payer requirements and ensure that billing and payment data reflects accurately the services which are provided. The Self Pay and Payment Post Account Representative will maintain knowledge base by completing continued education either assigned or upon their own initiative. A minimum of three courses are to be taken per calendar year.
Self Pay and Payment Post Account Representative assigned the full-time responsibility of follow-up are expected to meet the minimum goal of (30) accounts per day and to manage approximately 750 - 1,000 accounts in their assigned-accounts inventory, understanding these are minimum account loads based on hospital census and may increase.
