The Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Nurse is a registered nurse specially trained in the administration of chemotherapy and biotherapy agents. The Chemotherapy Nurse is responsible for the handling, administration and disposal of chemotherapy and biotherapy agents. In addition, the chemotherapy nurse participates in interdisciplinary care planning with the physician, nurses, and other health care professionals to meet individual needs using appropriate resources to insure quality, safe, and cost effective care. Nurtures a working relationship with physicians, nursing staff, and other disciplines involved in the care of the patient/family.
Graduate of an RN program
Six (6) months experience preferred
Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Louisiana, ONS Certification in the administration of Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Agents
