Key to the support of executive-level decision makers' development of strategic initiatives and special programs, the Data Analytics Specialist provides accurate and timely assessments and reports using multiple resources for clinical, administrative, and business data relative to unique changes in the delivery of health care for all venues of care in CHRISTUS Health. The incumbent provides analysis to include required elements, modeling and design, documentation, and validation to enhance the data analytics approach to problem-solving. Using advanced statistical, analytical, and reporting techniques provided through the application of SQL and Excel VBA programming, this associate will provide significant input in the development and delivery of reporting capabilities. This includes the ability to fully explain processes and methodologies used to all levels of executives regardless of technical background. In a rapidly changing health care environment, the ability to adapt quickly and maintain leadership in sophisticated analysis and reporting is essential for this position.
Maintain standards for accuracy while continually improving data collection, analytical processes, and reporting.
Provide validation for data processing and reports regardless of generation source.
Data cleansing and normalization of multiple, complex data sets for accurate and relative analysis.
Conduct research and project preparation by collecting information and data from all relevant sources, including best practices for new projects.
Provide multi-variant or other statistical applications, as indicated, for accurate analysis and reporting. Maintain appropriate documentation of each methodology used and rationale for each project.
Participates in the development of standards, design, and implementation of proactive processes to collect and report data and statistics on assigned systems.
Maintains system security while participating in the research, design, development, and implementation of database applications.
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Strong data analysis experience with Excel Modeling required
Experience in using SQL to query and cleansing data
Experience in integrating and cleansing data from source systems is preferred.
Solid understanding of BI and analytics landscape, preferable in large-scale development environments.
Must have communication skills and the ability to develop and present solutions to all levels of management (including executive levels).
Must have demonstrated the ability to solve complex problems with minimal direction.
Must be able to interact effectively and patiently with customers especially while under pressure.
The ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously to meet project deadlines for self and others as required.
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with other employees.
Minimum of One (1) years of experience with writing and debugging complex SQL queries.
Minimum of Two (2) years of experience with Excel VBA and dashboard management
Minimum One (1) years of experience in corporate systems environments required. Experience with a variety of Information Management applications, programming languages, and technologies.
Two (2) years Healthcare or Healthcare IT experience preferred.
