Our client, a large, innovative acute care medical center and teaching hospital in the NYC metropolitan area, is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Patient Relations for one of the largest patient relations departments in the region.
The Assistant Vice President, Patient Relations supervises the provision of services of the Patient Representatives Department, and oversees the planning and management of the Medical Center’s Volunteer Program and Public Communications. The AVP participates in program planning and the evaluation of the overall effectiveness of the delivery of Patient Representative Services. In addition, the AVP coordinates and administers activities of the Volunteer Program, related to hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating department staff; participates in development and maintenance of departmental policies, programs and procedures to ensure optimal delivery of services and is responsible for department’s Performance Improvement Activities.
A Bachelor’s degree in communications, social sciences or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of customer-oriented experience in a hospital setting, or suitable combination of education and experience is essential, as is knowledge of patient care and patient problems. Familiarity with and knowledge of the New York regional healthcare marketplace is a plus.
