We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Genetic Counselor providing constitutional genetic, prenatal diagnostic or pre-conceptual genetic counseling to patients and potential high risk patients conducts in-take screening, risk assessment, explains nature and scope of testing procedures. Prepares laboratory specimens as required. Maintains programmatic files and prepares reports as necessary. Coordinates testing for screening. May serve as a resource for physician clients. Educates patients about testing and results. Discuss preconception and prenatal screening/diagnostic testing options depending on indication for genetic counseling and risk assessment.
Seasoned professional knowledge; equivalent to a Master's degree; knowledge in more than one discipline; Master's of Science Degree in Genetics or Genetic Counseling. American Board of Medical Genetics - Genetic Counseling.
