Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
Baptist Medical Group, the hospital-employed physician group of Baptist Health Care is seeking a nurse practitioner to join our Palliative Care program. The department currently consists of Dr. John Boden, clinical manager, two registered nurses and one social worker. The need for an additional provider is due to the growth of the program that serves as an intricate part of the twenty-four physician Hospitalist program and entire health care system. The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:30pm – Must be flexible No call required. No major holidays required. Average volume 7-10 patients/day for the practitioner Experienced physician support readily available
MSN required. Successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a practitioner (general or specialized) from an approved nurse practitioner program.
Clinical adult ARNP or relevant experience in developing and running patient care programs.
Current ARNP License in the State of Florida.
Certified with American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP) or American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC).
BLS through American Heart Association.
Knowledge of advanced practice of nursing including anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology and therapeutics, basic nutrition, behavioral factors, psychosocial/family systems, diagnostic testing, interpretation of results and clinical decision making, alternative treatment modalities.
