Establishes and maintains relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor the operation of the department. Participates in the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the area of responsibility. Prepares periodic reports for management to track goal accomplishment; Leads colleagues using performance management and development process. Functions in collaboration with administration and is responsible and accountable for managing and coordinating clinical activities as assigned. Responsible for the investigation, education and implementation of evidence based practice, coordination of appropriate and fiscally responsible staffing requirements, and identification and implementation of performance improvement initiatives that affect patient care. Evaluates performance and professional development of staff. Actively involved as a provider of patient care and in the coordination of patient care in order to ensure the smooth progression of the patient's medical evaluation and treatment. Utilizes advanced knowledge in the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment. Supervisory authority includes authority to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, responsibly direct or adjust grievances.
