CHARGE NURSE - MED/SURG 4S (FT - 7A)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Charge Nurse I (CN) functions under the supervision of the Director. The CN assures provision of care to an assigned patient population in a professional manner, utilizing the nursing process and the principles of continuous quality improvement in collaboration with other health team members. The CN is responsible for management of staff, physicians, and patients for a designated unit. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups Develops, implements, and evaluates an age-appropriate plan of care utilizing the nursing process, clinical skills, and patient education. Maintains professional behavior when dealing with issues or conflicts, utilizing appropriate resources, as needed. Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, families, visitors, and employees. The RN will assess risks to patient safety and implement the appropriate precautions. The RN will comply with appropriate and approved standards, as outlined by the organization and accrediting agencies. The RN will comply with safety and injury prevention standards to minimize risk to self, co-workers, patients, and visitors.
