St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking BC/BE Pathologist to serve as Clinical Medical Director of St. Elizabeth hospital laboratories and also function as Medical Director of a joint venture lab that is being formed with one of the top health systems in Cincinnati. In 2017, the total billable test volumes of St. Elizabeth lab were 4,000,000 of which 3,250,000 were performed in the Core Lab in Edgewood, Kentucky. In 2018, an additional 2,000,000 in testing will be added to the core lab as a result of the joint venture. St. Elizabeth Healthcare is one of the largest Healthcare systems in the Greater Cincinnati Area with approximately 350 employed physicians. The lab has the state of the art Roche automated chemistry line, the latest Sysmex hematology automated line, and is the only hospital in the country with dual WASP labs for microbiology. We are in our fourth year of a highly successful blood management program which has halved blood usage in our hospital. We are embarking on a major lab utilization initiative to assure that principles of best practice and value based medicine are applied to lab orders. The ideal candidate should possess leadership skills with a proven track record of process improvement, commitment to staff development, and relationship management. This is a full-time, employed position with responsibilities including enhancing the lab as a resource to care professionals, instrumentation optimization, and ensuring appropriate test ordering We are a multi-hospital, community health system employing more than 8,500 employees. In addition to our community focus, St. Elizabeth is home to a Family Medicine Residency Program and a hospital-based School of Medical Technology. We recently announced a partnership with the University of Kentucky and Northern Kentucky University to open a Medical School. Opportunities for academic affiliations are available for qualified candidates. Plans are underway for development of a freestanding, comprehensive Cancer Institute.
